After the great success of last year's WWI commemoration concert, we were joined by Immediate Voices for a light-hearted programme in anticipation of the summer holidays. Cheezy schmaltz, gorgeous torch-songs, Disney classics, show numbers and re-imaginings of pop songs. Unusual choral music with a chance to quaff Cabernet and crunch Camembert with the choirs in the interval. (Cheese provided; wine by donation.)

The event was attended by the Mayor and Mayoress of Merton, Councillor David and Mrs Irina Chung.

Programme:

  • Sunrise Sunset
  • You've got a Friend in Me
  • Dream a Little Dream

Immediate Voices is the work choir of Immediate Media, based in Hammersmith. We started in 2013 when the company was formed after moving from BBC Magazines and under Chris's enthusiastic and supportive leadership have been meeting almost every Tuesday lunchtime since. The highlight of our year is our Christmas concert with a mix of traditional and not-quite-so-traditional Christmas pieces and we also try to sing at any company event we can! We're all really excited about the chance to join Colliers Wood Chorus for this special cheesy concert, especially as we're currently a very small choir, and to realise our childhood dreams (well, most of ours) of singing Disney songs as a choir! We'd like to thank Chris and Colliers Wood Chorus for inviting us to take part and hope this will be the first of many joint efforts. Bring on the cheese!
