Our last appearance was so successful that they asked us back! Eight choirs out of the 150 or so who took part
in the Voicelab series performed again
in the grand finalé. [South Bank link no longer available but they tell me they are working on an archive of past events.]
We sang from 1:30 - 2:00 in the Clore Ballroom (where we were in January):
- Dona Nobis Pacem - Trad. (arr. C. Killerby)
- Dream A Little Dream Of Me - Kahn, Schwandt and Andre (arr. C. Killerby)
- Sunrise Sunset - J. Bock and S. Harnick (arr. C. Killerby)
- Fairest Isle - H. Purcell (arr. C. Killerby)
- Heartbeats - O+K Dreijer (The Knife) (arr. Mark Northfield)
- So Deep Is The Night - F. Chopin
- Jikele Maweni - Xhosa Working song
- Valerie - The Zutons (arr. L. Davies)
...and in the Riverside Café from 2:15 - 2:30 (The terrace was too cold):
- Kancho - Traditional folk song from Ghana (from Sing for Water 2007)
- Tsmidao Gmerto (Tsmee) - Georgian Chant (from Sing for Water 2009)
- Oh When The Saints - Medley of traditional tunes
- Plovi Barko - Croatian folk song (from Sing for Water 2008)
- Oh When The Saints Encore - because the audience were so keen to join in
Once again, The Mayor, Cllr Nick Draper, joined us, and this time our MP, Siobhan McDonagh, came along to support us too. Most of us stayed behind to see the other fabulous acts. Well done to them and to the South Bank Centre - it was an event to be proud of.
Backlit special - but at least you can see where we were! Just before the 15-minute slot in the Riverside Café.
