Colliers Wood Chorus is a 75-strong community choir which sings all types of music from classical and world to pop. Our rehearsals are lively social occasions and our performances range from sing-songs in the pub to appearances in front of several hundred at the South Bank Centre.

The choir is open to all ages and abilities, with no requirement to be able to read music. Enthusiasm and commitment are the qualifications you need. As the choir is very popular, we usually have a waiting list for all voice groups, although currently we have vacancies for men. We give priority to residents from the Colliers Wood ward (map in this document), as we maintain strong links with the local community.

21st June: Message From Sir.

Hello all you lovely choristers. Just a quick note to say how much I am going to miss rehearsing with you all for the next few weeks. Rest assured I leave you in the very capable hands of Mistress Music (Antonia) and Dame Diva (Elaine) so I expect you'll be even better now! I know you'll all be helpful and attentive and supportive. Sorry to bail out on you so unexpectedly but my Opera rehearsal schedule changed at short notice - hi ho the glamorous life!

I hope you can come to the extra rehearsal slots at 94 Cavendish Road I have scheduled for voice groups:

  • Saturday 3 July 14:00 Tenors
  • Saturday 3 July 15:15 Basses
  • Saturday 10 July 14:00 Sopranos
  • Saturday 10 July 15:15 Altos

Try to be exactly on time as I have to be at the theatre for a performance those evenings and will not be able to overrun.

Here is a list of the repertoire (in no particular order) you have to get your heads around for the 24th of July, which is not that far away now:

  • Belle Nuit
  • Walking on Broken Glass
  • 2 Become 1
  • Vincent
  • Lloyd Webber Night Medley
  • Fix You
  • Ar Hyd Y Nos (All Through The Night)
  • Dream a Little Dream
  • Heartbeats
  • Tsmidao
  • So Deep Is The Night
  • Sunrise Sunset

Lots of love,

Christopher
